That seems implausible to me, and my guess (again this is still just a guess) is that S28 will continue into September.Update on July 18: Season 23 has ended. So the reason I say 8/20 is a little tight for S28 ending is because to fit that 4-week window we‘d need to see a PTR announcement right as D4 S1 launches. The PTR typically lasts two weeks, and around the end of the PTR we get about two weeks advance notice of the end of the season. Prior to every D3 season end there is a public test realm (PTR) announcement with preliminary patch notes describing the patch balance changes and reworks of gear leading into the new season, plus the upcoming season theme. It also fits pretty well coming a month after the launch of D4 season 1 on July 20th, but it’s a little tight. Right now everyone is just guessing.Ī common guess is August 20th, which is plausible because it lines up pretty well with the 6 month duration of Season 27.

We don’t know and won’t know for sure until Blizzard announces the end date.
